Any reason why the local AD would have a NATO strap selling for $400?

Went in to get my older Omega serviced and I'm in the market for a new NATO strap. I like the look and feel of the Omega's for my Speedmaster.

My AD has an oem grey and black striped NATO strap with titanium buckle and hardware for $400... after nixing that purchase I went online it is $160 at the omega website, but with stainless hardware instead of titanium. Quite a price difference. Anyone here know the differences? I can't' find titanium straps on Omega's website.

Didn't know they made them with Ti buckle and hardware, so probably a fairly limited production item and priced accordingly. Did you confirm this is the actual Omega retail price?

Yep...if it was titanium buckle...that's why it was so expensive. It's similar to the bracelets they sell. I have the black one with the titanium clasp...it was more expensive than the stainless one.

No unfortunately I did not, I wanted to get some more information from here and google. I'll go back and see if I can find the item number or something like that to google.

Nothing comes up on the retail website in the U.S. THe most expensive NATO strap is the leather one for $250 USD.

The titanium hardware natos are a lot more expensive than steel. The NTTD and the black ceramic/titanium Seamaster are both available with titanium hardware natos. The black/grey with titanium is one of the straps that comes with the black ceramic Seamaster.

This nato has titanium , so does NTTD. The Apollo 11 45th nato also has titanium hardware.

This is the strap, I guess they received extras... still might go back and buy it... only because I am a sucker sometimes.

These types of decisions often cannot rationally be thought out, it's an emotional pull.

“Did you say, titanium? It’s more expensive you say? Connery himself certainly had one? I’ll take every one you’ve got. Every. One.”

You’re lucky that type of thinking only cost you $400. Things can be much, much, worse:

Old thread I know….
Does anyone know if Omega will order one of these on request like a normal nato?
…or was this a one off thing of having a spare lying around that only comes with a specific watch normally?
