Renger, I'm afraid there is no option other than a competent watchmaker!

While it is good news that the watch is solid gold, there may be some bad news also.

It appears that this may be what is called a "front loader" or Unicoc style case that is serviced by removing the crystal to access the movement.
It also appears that the bezel (a ring that snaps around the crystal) may be missing.

Whether I'm right or wrong, the next step is a watchmaker!

Another two questions, but before that thanks to all for all the advice.
My watch is now with a good watchmaker and he will contact me next week on how much it will cost.
I also have more information on the type of the watch. I got the reference number (055BA1620033) which points me (when searching for 162.0033) to the Geneve from 1966. However, in the vintage database of Omega this watch looks exactly the same with two differences: it has Geneve written below the center and mine doesn't have this. As far as I know, it never has been with a watchmaker. And it says 18k gold.

Is this still a Geneve?
And my last question: Any idea how much the value of a revised version of this watch is (so, I can tell my brothers what I owe them 😀?
Cheers
