·Hi all
A friend of mine inherited this 14k gold watch from his mother and would like to have some information before giving it to his daughter in law who is having her first baby soon.
All I could find out is that its 14k gold that the movement is a 483 which would mean that it dates from about 1959 - 1963
The numbers on the inside of the caseback don't ring a bell.
568269 too short for a serial and the Omega vintage site doesn't know it as a model or reference nr.
The other number 7117GY (or is it 711/GY?) doesn't give any hits as well.
In AJTT I can find a few ladies watches with ref. 711.xxxx
The gold hallmarks are simple 14K 0.585 for 14k gold.
The 122 in the hammerhead for Oreade, Manufacture de boites SA,t la Chaux de Fonds and the almost invisble one is the hallmark of the Dutch importer. (A+K)
Could it be possible that the Dutch importer just ordered the case/movement combination and had a milanaise bracelet fitted by an outside manufacturer like Valcambi??
Or does anyone know the numbers mentioned above?
Thanks for your help and input
The pics: (not mine 😉 )
