I have a friend who is 6'4", 72 years old and used to be a navy diver. Does he meet your requirements? ( Not Swiss, but he can do accents.) He is also a real cheapskate.

It certainly isn't Swiss, but would you consider a 6105-8110 ?
So flipping hot...especially on the waffle strap! 馃憤

I have this one and I am happy with it.

The Beuchat and similar-cased watches are among my favorite large-ish divers. The case looks like a slab but wears extremely well.

Sicura by breitling? I've seen manual ones with funky grid pattern dials for around $200 on ebay..I'll try and upload a pic or two later. .

Edit: here's one on ebay for $150
That watch is either huge or that guy as the shortest fingers I have ever seen!

Good old Titus Calypsomatics: while the gilt ETA-powered models command a decent premium, the later Felsa powered models still have a respectable size of 38mm and can be had relatively cheaply if sourced. The 8895 is the day/date model and the 8940 is the date model.

No love for little divers? 36-37 mm

Unfortunately they just wear too small on my wrist. 18 years wearing a Speedy does that!

So @Dash1 which divers did you get in these two years?
Well I nearly pulled the trigger on a few of the fine examples suggested here but in the end I just couldn't quite kick my vintage Omega habit so I ended up with is:

GetFileAttachment
Diver - yes
Vintage - yes
Large - yes
Swiss - yes
Inexpensive - no (although good value for a vintage Omega at 拢1500)

Of course I wasn't short of vintage divers anyway:

Thank you to all contributors!

What do you define as inexpensive ? Under $1000, $500, $200...

There are a bunch of inexpensive, cool watches out there unfortunately the cases are plated.

One watch that has always stuck for me is the Whitnauer skindiver. You don鈥檛 see a lot of them but they鈥檙e actually really cool .

A couple things:

1) Check the date on original post - this is a 2 year old thread. The OP even replied to somebody who asked him what he already bought just a few posts above yours, and thanked all of the contributors to this thread.

2) It's spelled Wittnauer.

However, the necrothreadiac was JerH64 so you're off the hook. 馃槈
