The omega sign is a smaller sound happy feet replacement crown from the 60's /70's. It is period correct but not original to the watch. Probably a watchmaker replaced it with a new replacement from omega in the early 70's would be my guess. The original crowns had the flat feet narrow symbols.

Just checked on my own 505 and I see what you mean. Every day is a learning day here.

Yes! I actually have a 50's replacement on my 505. It is different than the newer replacement ones and the original one like on yours.
