Would love to add a pie-pan, bumper Constellation to the stable. One of those I'm always on the look-out for. Have to make do with this one at the moment:

Got this on ebay for only a little more than 1k last month. Sometimes you just need to be patient and get lucky.

This cleaned up nicely

That is remarkable!

What would be the price for a s/s in similar condition, when you dont hit the ebay lottery? 馃榾

Nothing wrong with that bumper.. That's gorgeous, why is that just making due?

They have been selling at over $1500 for good ones lately.. Closer to two grand honestly.

Fresh one for consideration - https://www.ebay.ie/itm/112323295593

Again a touch on the expensive side but to my eye the dial, hands, bracelet and crown look good. Movement looks clean. I can't quite make out the definition on the lugs so have asked for sharper pics but other than that I thought the case looked good?

Anything else jump out that I should note?

Not a bad Connie
Getting better pictures of the case is a good idea
Perhaps some polishing but facets look to be still there
Dial looks correct but with some bubbling to the dial - as long as your okay with that
It may never get any worse or could degrade further
Service is a bonus -with a 12 month warranty - ask for pictures of the service
No gasket in the pictures !
New date ring is okay - 564s can chew the date ring if your not careful changing the date
I'd put the watch at 69 not 67
Net of service to you $1200-1300
You could make an offer
Show us any additional pictures you get

Hello @Johnny_H
Your welcome for the assistance now help us help you
First - post pics not links please
Second - you now need to start researching
It's a 14381
Google the reference or search in the forum - lots of good examples to compare to this watch
(Recent thread about curious crowns)
Look at the case in detail for edges - a clue this case is very shiny
It also has a black dial - so always be VERY sceptical about black dials no matter how good they look at first glance
There are very few out there that are unadulterated and even fewer in that condition
A must read - Desmond's blog about the MOY test

Then come back and tell us what you think about this watch

You are right. That was a very lazy post from me - I admit it 馃槈 I was in traffic on the way home and you are right the dial looks... almost too good to be true. I shall do do some research and return 馃榾

...All research ought to start on OF. This is the second time today I write this:

The watch has been discussed here before.

Don't.

Hello Gents

A member of OF has very kindly been in contact and offered to sell me their SS Constellation, details and pics as follow below.

All looks correct to me but I have their permission to open it to comment on this thread for further discussion.

Price as discussed is $1,750 incl NOS BOR which I have to say looks flawless.

"This is a Connie Pie Pan, Case Ref 14902, Cal. 561. Dog-leg Lugs are sharp, comes with a NOS 9-row BOR bracelet and accompanying paperwork. There is some patina to the dial but still very attractive and scrip is perfect."

It looks very nice and correct, replacement crown, possible replacement rotor, might be rubbing or fixed. Deffenitly needs a good movement cleaning and reoil. So really around two grand given the rotor has been fixed. I think it looks like a nice watch that will appreciate nicely.

Why is the crown a replacement? Looks correct to me. I'm not too sure about the BOR though. There are a lot of copies about and they all tend to bunch up like this one is doing instead of lying flat, which I've never seen in an original. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I've never seen it.

The omega sign is a smaller sound happy feet replacement crown from the 60's /70's. It is period correct but not original to the watch. Probably a watchmaker replaced it with a new replacement from omega in the early 70's would be my guess. The original crowns had the flat feet narrow symbols.

One of the tells on (many) aftermarket BOR bracelets it the lack of a slight bevel on the underside of the outside links. This one at least has the bevels ....
it is looking pretty new and unmarked..... but it is stated as NOS.
