Longines VHP without serial number

Hi all,
I've come across an old VHP and can't find a serialnumber anywhere. The only numbers are 255563 on the movement and a faint, maybe, 4978 with 237 below it. I believe 237 is the numberLongines used for the caliber on this model. All the other VHPs I've seen had serial numbers on the back. Could this be a fake?

Thanks,
henrylr

I don't know if the watch is a fake or legit, but the L237.2 movement is kinda special. It is based on the ETA 255.563 and is very accurate. It is capable of being within 10 seconds per year when properly adjusted.

I have an Omega Seamaster Titane with a 1441 movement (ETA 255.561) that is of similar genes as yours. I set it last September and it drifted 0.83 seconds since. This corresponds to about 1.6 seconds/year.

Thanks for the reply. Since I know it has the 255.563 movement I'm pleased that I bought. It is just the lack of a serial number that concerns me.

Thanks, but does anyone know if it is a fake because of missing serial number?

Does anyone know if a user manual is available for the Longines vhp L237.2 or the ETA 255.563 movement?

Thanks,

Hi. I've sent you my email address but don't know if you are getting my replies to your post stating you have a pdf manual for the 255.563.
