Hello all-- I am looking to buy a Speedmaster 3510.50, but there from the pictures there does not appear to be a serial number. According to the seller the number "faded due to repolish/buffing". Is this a common thing? Is it worth a savings of 200 or 300 bucks?

So it's kind of strange. It's a Japanese ebay dealer called "elady" that seems to have an excellent rep, but they also have a website with a few pieces not listed on ebay, which is where I found this one.
