I started the thread just over 6 months ago and i got my hands on one finally. I still couldn't find it at some of my local ADs so i bought mine overseas during a recent trip. Love it. Great watch from Longines.

Congrats on the new purchase! I’m still strongly debating it. It hasn’t left my mind since the day I saw it at my AD. I just haven’t been able to justify it over other options. That being said I am loving the lume on the numbers

The Longines is one of the coolest watches I've ever owned.

I love it on the green strap. It makes it more wild and casual!

It was actually from a Citizen military eco drive watch and fairly well made, but here's the Longines on a old Hirsch.

The big eye is lovely. Wears a little thick for me, but the lug to lug is spot on and fits beautifully.

Love this watch, after several halfhearted near-transactions I am officially in the hunt for a used one.

Yes that’s right. I too left it due to its thickness. It doesn’t sit well on the wrist.

Just saw one of these in person a week or so ago, and ws very impressed. Beautiful piece that combines great legibility with some interesting design touches in a really well-built and finished case, and loved the action of those oversized pushers. The AD I was at sold their last two while I was there but I'm seriously considering one at this point as an everyday alternative to the Sinn 103 and a few other chronos I've tried before. Also really liked the vintagey Longines divers they had nearby.

Hi all,

I'm going to give this thread a little more life since I've just received mine today from a fine gent from Winnipeg and I'm very excited about it.

I must say that ever since these have been introduced, I was immediately attracted to the fine execution of the re-issue of this piece https://omegaforums.net/threads/longines-avigation-big-eyes.63057/page-2#post-868292
However, i admit I know nothing of this watch other that it a fantastic looking chronograph and no doubt, a fine tool for pilots of yesteryear.

Simply put, an astounding value, great size at 41mm and nice clean dial with no date. These can be had brand new for just over USD $ 2K.

Superbly finished ( at least to the naked eye) , I find it sits nice and flat on the wrist compared to many modern chronographs. All functions are smooth as butter. I was also attracted by the column wheel movement which seems to be of excellent quality.

So, I'm thrilled to be a Longines owner!

Cheers,

Finally got mine after several misfires...love it. Wears/looks very big for 41mm but very comfortable. New Hirsch strap inbound.

Added a new Hirsch strap to my Bigeye, me like. For $45 what's not to like? Nice beefy quality...
