Up for sale is a cheap and cheerful Longines Admiral 5 Star Automatic dating to the 1970’s.

Price: $250USD net to me

Case: Tonneau shaped, electroplated gold with stainless steel back. The case is in good vintage condition, with original brushing still visible throughout. One lug and one side have dings which I’ve attempted to capture below. Overall I would classify the condition as “good”. Tonneau shape measures 40mm from lug to lug and 36mm across without the crown (38mm with) - wears well and in a modern size.

Dial: Brown and beige “fumé” style dial in perfect condition. Day and date window at 3 o’clock. Stick markers with narrow strips of lume (lume no longer lights up)

Hands: gold hands with thin strips of lume (lume no longer lights up)

Serial number intact on caseback: 174250XX.

Caseback: gasket still in place, one service mark visible. Caseback reference reads B 3025-1 636

Crown: signed Longines crown, appears to be original.

Movement: Longines L636.2 automatic movement - the watch runs and day and date functions work correctly. Service history is unknown and long-term accuracy is unknown, but nothing seems to be awry.

Strap and buckle: original gold coloured Longines buckle. Nice tapered vintage strap (unsure of originality - Longines markings either not present or worn off), brown in colour that’s either genuine or reproduction lizard.

Awesome 70’s style automatic daily wearer watch.

ETA 2836/2824-2 movement, so a solid movement that’s easily serviced. Cool watch.
