I was in Keanes in Cork again yesterday. They still have the Doctors LE but now also have an Apollo 17 45th anniversary. It's a really lovely piece. Incidentally I asked them what they know about next year's 50th piece. They haven't heard anything from Omega and wouldn't take any deposits on any thing they don't know about

Here are some of the LE available at my local OB, including a 45th anniversary apollo XVII full gold case limited to 272 pcs.

They had 2 speedies when I checked a couple of weeks ago. I’m surprised they haven’t sold by now.

Agreed. I was there a few weeks back and remarked to Anthony that they hadn't sold yet.

20 years from now, collectors would dream of these days when these limited series were still available.

I agree. You can’t even buy a non limited Rolex these days.

I was seriously tempted to pick one up, but ultimately I had one before and didn’t just want to buy because it was there.

Am just waiting for the day they get a spare ultraman at RRP......

Indeed, it really needs something like Timex’s Indiglo function! Having said that, it probably works really well at night...

In the UK they seem not to be as desirable / rare as I have seen a few heavily discounted. If they are rare it could be because they are finding them hard to shift. I quite like them. But concerned that the novelty of the all black would wear off, especially if the legibility is dire as some have suggested. I’d probably rather save a bit extra and gonfor the grey with sedna or the meteorite.

If anyone is interested the 2 60th speedies are still in regent street. Surprisingly, they have 2 CK2998 pulsometers also. Great size, albeit small in the mirror but have had a fois before so not surprise. Think this will look much better on bracelet.

Tried on. Not sure if it is really for me or not (is quite a loud watch). One of those visits which are very uncommon. The wife said pull the trigger and I didn’t. I’m going to sleep on it. The one for the chopping block will be the datejust in the photos.

From what i heard all the seamaster 48s with the sub seconds are spoken for already.
That's what I've been told by about 6 different OBs. Luckily the seventh had an open allocation and I got a slot - I'll believe it when it's on my wrist, though.

I have it, I love it. Wears great, even with the original strap. Do it.

... so I did some window shopping today. And I was pretty much suprised on the amount of modern Omega LEs readily available:
Olypmic seamaster in red ... the most wanted one according to fellow members:

The Railmaster LE I had on my wrist about a year ago is also still there:

Commander Bonds watch is still waiting for a customer:

The Cernan LE anybody?

And finally the doctors panda:

Three ADs, 45min of walk.
I've found that a little bit disturbing.

Do you also experience that there seems to be significant LE stock that does not move for a longer period of time in your area?

In Poland, I saw for long long time limited edition on stock. In particular, Seamaster 300 and Railmaster (Trilogy) were in stock for months, and Panda is still there. Not sure that the selling of these models are so great as they like to say...

Hmm not sure I would be chopping in that DJ for a CK2998 Novelty

Only one is a timeless classic

Yep - that’s the conclusion I came to. It’s nice, but not really me as I prefer more classic looks.

Next time I am in the UK I will have to visit the Regent Street OB. I am interested in a 2018 CK2998 Panda but can't really find them in the US.

Definitely. They always seem to have some of the sold out models in. Well worth a look, and good staff too!

Maybe it's the shirt, but I think the CK2998 suits your wrist better than the DJ. Classic or not, I'd go with the CK.
