Like someone else mentioned, if Omega's great marketing plan is to copy watches from the past, then the future of the speedmaster looks grim. Kinda reminds me of Jaguar (cars) a decade ago, before Tata bought them and turned things around.

Isn't it more a matter of copying watches from the present that copy watches from the past?

Can anyone see our successors aching to own this in 50 years? I can't.
What does this have to do with anything? I'm wearing a watch right now...and in some time another one.

That watch is like seeing watching a gorgeous woman at a beach promenade.
Classy, dressed elegantly and complementing to her figure...
Her bearing is upright and dignified, her smile beautiful and alluring...
She turns to look at something, and her light blouse is catched by the wind and lifted sligthly, revealing...

My favorite from omega this year... But will wait till it hits secondary market

I'm not so sure I would wait...
Only 2998 pieces, really attractive, and relatively inexpensive (~6k)
I doubt if this one will drop much

Hodinkee reporting $5400 Swiss franc. Totally out if $6500 USD.

Multiple folks mentioned the $5400 price yesterday, which was just about enough to still keep me interested.
I was definitely surprised at hearing $6500 from the boutique today. I will likely take my chances on the secondary market.

Omega has this annoying habit of quoting prices in CHF... and then later, throwing out a USD price which bear no resemblance at all to currency conversion. $6500 is strong for this piece, but in line with prior LE's from 2014/2015... so I can't say I'm terribly surprised. I don't think I will let $1000 sway me either way, but with 2998 pieces, and lack of that WOW factor, this will not sell out like Snoopy, IMHO, but still you should stay in contact with your boutique sales rep as this is a boutique only piece. Secondary market will take longer but will probably get you in that mid 5k range for those with more patience than me.

I'm actually kinda growing out of the watch, rather than it growing on me. I liked it at first, but the new ceramic Daytona white dial is much more appealing to me. Maybe, if I'd missed out on a Snoopy, and I didn't have a Mitsukoshi dial and hand set sitting around to transplant into an appropriate subject someday, then I'd be more interested in this one. I've passed on lot's of LE Speedmasters, and this might have to be another of them. Then again, who knows...
