These casebacks are just so ugly. Looks like chromed plastic. One always go back to the original speedy.

This is whimsical, polarizing, on the edge of ridiculous. In time, it will prove to have been brilliant. It won't be repeated, and that's what makes it collectable.

Resurrected thread here I see - I posted months ago that I was growing out of the watch as time passed, but I ended up picking up #911 at the Denver Omega Boutique two weeks ago. It's cool because the warranty card is dated 9/11 too.

A few weeks after I submitted an emailed Omega watch owner profile to another OB, Omega had called my local OB instead, and told them that they had reserved a watch for me. So, I got it from there as soon as it arrived (their second arrival), immediately swapped out the leather for a gunmetal blue NATO, and started wearing it.

But now a second CK-2998 came in for me today at the original OB where I'd submitted the "Profile" (Southcoast Plaza Swatch) and I declined buying a second one. I'm not a speculator or flipper, and don't like risk, so the next person in line gets it. Although I felt bad about the miscommunication between Omega and the two OBs.

Fantastic. Just contacted a boutique in California that might be able to get one for me. As I live in Canada, they might need to ship it to an American relative.

If you live in Lower Mainland (since you contacted Cali, I guess west coast at least) ship to 5D Packages in Blaine and pick up from there. Living in Vancouver, they are my go to place for US parcels. As for the watch, love the look, but way out of my price range.

Sorry you have be of a certain age I guess...

Depending on where you are, there are many places that you can get parcels shipped to just over the border, so you can go pick it up.

Cheers, Al

I probably shouldn't be buying one right now. I can't eat them, or get shelter from them in January. I sure do love to look and dream though.

Thanks for the tip though.
