lol I actually kinda like the White Side (standard). Put on a white NATO and it'd look kinda astronauty IMO

(no, I am not offended)

The white Speedmaster does look like a plastic piece of junk from gumboil machine. The diamonds make it worse.

The whiteside of the moon, especially with diamonds would have been GREAT watches at 34-36mm and aimed at women. My wife would have sold her car for one at that size.

Hey now, I can take it when you guys call my favorite watch designs ugly, but I can't abide disrespecting the 1040 movement. That's where I draw the ligne 😀

I see what you did there. Well played. 😁

All about ones taste 😗

Picture curiosity of https://www.fratellowatches.com/speedy-tuesday-omega-speedmaster-pro-tintin/

Can't stand it, looks like the Ratatouille Speedmaster to me. The red and white look like a tablecloth or a poker chip. Dunno just me

Can't work it out same as multicoloured NATOs

( can I write NATO or does that guy on eBay own the word NATO now or still ? ! How would you pay this guy for everytime you wrote NATO ? )

This and the follow-up "Explorers on the Moon" are very cool kids comics...so, although although I do not consider it to be my favourite Speedy LE, I still think it is quite cool...similar to the Snoopy with a light-hearted / comic twist (as well as the Apollo 13 ref.)

Just to make us Omega fans feel a bit better. Thankfully Omega never considered doing something like this:

The only watch I know that also requires an IATA Exotic Species CITES form to pass customs. Also needs to be sedated during air-travel and must use a protective hood in urban areas.

Sorry for the interlude...

Hope everyone is feeling better...

Back to the Omegas...

From the current modern Omega range I agree that the WSOTM looks awful and the Apollo XVII 40th looks like a Terry Gilliam Monty Python sketch

After browsing this thread, I had none of these watches. Fortunate to avoid scorn, unfortunate because my watch collection is so small and not diverse enough for anything to make it on the thread haha.

The Rolex takes the cake for me. Especially because it was no doubt insanely expensive. 🤮 But that Apollo XVII looks like it's being worn inside-out. I'd almost expect to flip it over and see chapters, index marks, and three sub-dials engraved in the case back like the designers were playing an April Fool's joke. "I have an idea, let's make this version completely unreadable! That will get them on the hook!" 🙄 What a waste of what should have been an amazing LE!

The WSOTM just looks mall-kiosk cheap. It's not a terrible looking watch, it's just not one that I'd willingly pay sticker price for. A disservice to the Speedmaster name, to be sure.
