I'll admit some of the Polaris models are "Marmite" watches. Not so with their grown-up cousin 😀

Well, after seen some of the examples. I would say that some of them look like cheap chinese fakes.

How about this one (Z-33)? When I first saw it I thought it was a fake. I'll take a cheesy space-themed watch with a strong hint of 1970's toaster please. It looks to me like it was designed by a Cylon from the original Battlestar Galactica. 🤮

The X-33 is the true "Spacemaster", as I seriously doubt this model has ever launched aboard a manned rocket.

I also, completely agree with the post about the Speedmaster 38. They really jumped the shark with that one. No doubt someone will like it enough to buy, just not me. Turns its back on the entire Speedmaster line, IMO.

I like Omega for it’s quirkiness. I have to admit that I would add most of the older 70s and 80s watches shown here to my collection.

I think the Polaris Titane is kinda cool, but agree the three-hander doesn't appeal at all

Will I be escorted out if I say I like this one?
Not at all!

I would like to understand why you like it though....at 43k.

Just for balance I quite like a couple of the “regular” GM ACs:-
130.33.41.22.06.001
130.23.41.22.06.001
Probably even more so if the “33” was available on a steel bracelet, but it isn’t.

This thing. Just awful.

Also, I had to laugh that this thread opened with the NZL-32. As a New Zealander I was quite excited to learn of the existence of a kiwi-themed Omega, that is until I saw the bloody thing.
The NZ themed ETNZ watches are stunning and fairly unknown. Some great looking pieces from Omega that no one really knows about.

I don’t consider the price when deciding whether something looks good or bad, the price only affects whether I can buy it or not. That’s why I said I like the green version but not the red. I didn't notice those are the Pt versions until now.

Just to drift a bit, and while I would be the first to admit I've no great love for most of the bog standard Polaris watches, there are some interesting and rarer models in the range such as the ana-digi multifunction

And even rarer the plain auto version of the chrono I posted earlier. This seems to pop up mainly from German sellers, which has lead to speculation that it may be a "teutonic" model.

That chronometer isn't too bad - I really like the hour ring, very JLC Deep Sea - but I still prefer the chronograph far above all the other models

Those are ugly! Now I need to look at the nice watches over at the WRUW thread to forget the watches here.

And don't forget its ugly sister.

😁😁😁
I have this model and the other one you posted, not gold plated versions though. I love them both😀

I really like some of the 70s and 80s models and applaud the pushing of perceived design boundaries. However, some are horrific! I think the phrase "from the sublime to the ridiculous" is rather apt.

Come on you can do better than that.. Here's one:

This is reportedly a one-off watch that Omega gave to Davis Love III, one of its PGA brand ambassadors.

I have also never understood the visual appeal of the Ploprof:

You guys realize that you are inevitably insulting or hurting the feelings of some members of the forum 🙄
