Pre 1922 Seth Thomas Regulator #2. Dial may be for another ST, I think it should have a seconds register, but it is paint on metal.

Did they all have a seconds register? My clockmaker said the movement would accommodate a seconds hand.

I think it is oak.

My copy of Tran Duy Li's Seth Thomas book shows a # 2 on page 63 which doesn't have a seconds hand, and also a # 2 on page 70 that does have a seconds hand. Your's looks stock to me.

That looks very much like mahogany.

If mahogany, I like it even more!

It hung in the Post Office during my Grandfathers' tenure as Postmaster. I even have the "official" framed picture of President Eisenhower, who appointed him, that hung in his private office. Dad bought the clock at an auction in circa 1960 when they "updated".

I have tried really hard to avoid everything with a clock in it that cannot be strapped on the wrist.

Yet these 4 have managed to sneak in under the protective shield during the years:

An military Omega 8 Days Three Crowns that I can´t recall where I got it from...

A L. Sundstedt, Stockholm, Swiss made "ters-ur" made for the Swedish Airforce during the 50ies. Movement by JLC

Here where it was placed in the cockpit:

And the plane:

I also have this nice Lemania "Rätt tids ur", that could be found on the counter in the watchmaker shops:

And finally this Omega 8-days which was given to me by a friend, and which comews from a famous light-house in Sweden:

According to the serial of the case, made around 1940

And the plane:

.........

Ha Ha.............the Barrel!

A funny looking little plane but very capable at the time.
Something I have in common with the Barrel is the engine, the DeHavilland Ghost was the first gas turbine engine I worked on. It was used in the Sea Venom fighter used by our Fleet Air Arm until replaced by A4 Skyhawks.
Later on I also got to be very familiar with the primary armament used by the Barrel, the quad Hispano 20mm canon and the AIM9b Sidewinder A/A missile.

We used to joke that the best way to use the Sidewinder was to fly up behind the enemy bomber and straight into its jet pipe (exhaust).

As soon as it went dark in the cockpit, the pilot could fire the Sidewinder with full confidence that it would hit the target.

...Either you have huge hands, or that's not really a clock.

Looks great no matter what, though!

It's a language barrier thing. "Clock" is the translation for wristwatches in some languages.
