    Last of the breed. Cal269.
Making way across the North Sea following a service. Could do with a more correct crown. Otherwise it should make a nice wearer?!

Left a cal. 285 with a beautiful, spotless linen weave dial and right a cal. 267, which was my first vintage watch.

Bought this on a bit of a whim off the Bay and can't wait for it to arrive.....to see if there actually is a movement inside. Assuming there is, it will need - and get - mucho TLC.

Probably not a 30mm movement inside that one. More likely a cal. 26.5. Nothing wrong with that one. Just as high grade as the 30's, just a little bit smaller.

With any luck, just Polywatch the crystal and wipe down the case. Get the movement serviced and you should be good to go. Everything else looks original.

Congratulation on a nice vintage purchase.

Good advice gatorcpa, thanks! I liked the dial and the vintage look. Judging by the band its been on someone's wrist for quite while.

Just love this watch!! There are however many that would take one look at the dial and disregard it and what a shame. If it is not perfect and pristine many just won't wear a piece like this. I have seen so many comments on watches like this as "unwearable" it makes me crazy. This is a prefect example of a survivor watch that has been worn and used as intended by the manufacturer. I have never seen a watch box that says "DO NOT BREAK SEAL". It is wonderful when a fine example comes up and we have the opportunity to add them to our collects but don't pass up a watch like this either. It has a far better story to tell then the one that nobody took the time to enjoy.

I also think it's a 26.5sob. I would have been able to tell more if the seller hadn't declined my offer when he first proposed it as Buy It Now.... Would be interested in a picture of the caliber and a better one of the dial.

Once I get it I will clean it up and post pictures. It was listed as a 30mm case, so you guys must be right about the movement being the smaller 26.5.

Yann, don´t be so shy - these are really beautiful "originals"

BTW what Ref. is this? Is it CK 2192 ?
Is it pressure shut or with a screw in back?

    regards

    Erich

    Hi Erich,
The watch is pressure shut and not screw in back. I don't know the reference as it was produced before Omega replaced the case serial number by the case ref (Caliber 30T2 n°9347XXX and case n° 10073XXX). I don't know the reference so it could be a 2192. Do you have a picture of it, there is none on the Omega VDB).
BTW I remember now that we already discussed the ref of this watch here : http://omegaforums.net/threads/reference-2254-or-pretty-damn-close.8698/ ;)

Yann my friend, if you and Erich would join forces, Bienne would be out of business!

Many here focus on Speedy's and Connie's, epic pieces for sure, but gentlemen, your pre-war expertise is unmatched in the world !!!, and much appreciated by those of us fortunate enough to share.

It is an honor to be a part of this.
