There is one positive aspect to this piece. You could wear it with no fear of it getting stolen/you threatened at gun point. Everybody would think it is a cheap Chinese knock off. Thiefs might even question your meaning of Style....
Nobody in his right mind would take a second glance at this ...( Searching for a word ...)

Tony Montana & Co are dead or behind bars, today's "entrepreneurs" wear pateks not Omegas. So not much value in western markets, maybe Asia?

Even Tony Montana never wore an Omega...

That's a Concord Delirium Mariner, and not an Omega La Magique. It has tiny lugs, which the Omega has not.

This is hilarious! I couldn’t see an ad like this happening today.
Perhaps Rolex can have a photo of James Spader donning his fedora and GMT in an ad reading “Make the most wanted list”

This is not a true ad and was fanmade by an Instagram page. 😁

Well I’m not sentimental and I’m not saying it’s worth $300,000 but I am saying in my opinion I’ll fetch $4000-$6000 depending on the buyer and where I sell it. Definitely not worth Gold Value only.

Great watch and the condition except for the hands. Btw it's not a big deal. IMO the major problem of this kind of high-end-material vintage watches is that, as already said is the size/model that nowadays is for woman and market's demand is low.
Best scenario 2500Euro in 1-2 years with a lot of advertising

Suggest you list it for $6,000.00, and see what happens. It might be said that an item is worth more to the owner than it is to anyone else. Time to find out if anyone else agrees with your asking price.

@Foo2rama, what was your evaluation then?
I said due to the size and style it was most likely gold plus stone value. Which is what he had purchased it for. He felt it was worth 6k plus.

One of three senses of value. Proud owner’s sense of value, possible seller’s sense of value, possible buyer’s sense of value. Generally, buyers are the ones who decide what the price should be.

So he paid what it’s worth, got a fair deal and therefore has no reason to complain. This is why it’s important to buy what you like and not chase an illusory profit as it sucks the joy out of the hobby when it doesn’t materialise whereas the joy of ownership endures.

Today's melt value of 66g of 14kt gold is $2297. Add $200 for the stones, and you are at $2500. It is possible that you might find someone who would like this for their wife, and is willing to spend upwards of $3K, but I'd doubt it. Not every vintage watch goes up in value - this one would require a very specific buyer. I do think it's likely to do better overseas rather than in the US.

Ultimately the forum members here aren't the target market for this piece, despite it being an Omega.

If this were on Dinky’s page, it would be $10k and sell in a heartbeat to an influencer

I mean dropping all pretense of journalistic integrity, I wonder what the going rate is for a DinkyPuff? I'm guessing more than the $2K that would make it worthwhile to buy them off for a puff piece about how we all miss the '80s and how this can bring back the Miami Vice feel to your wrist. Then have them sell this in their store at an exorbitantly inflated price. PROFIT!

Amazing how the timing of their waxing nostalgic articles coincide with high dollar consignment pieces landing in their store…hmmm
