Caseback is the only part on this watch that looks worn, A bit scratched.. Crown seems original as well.
What you have is a rare Lemania Super Compressor with a signed, crosshatch crown. Very rare find! In fantastic condition!!! Do not try to polish the back. You will damage the desirable SC helmet engraving. Cheers
Movement pic from when it was serviced a few years ago. Not sure exactly when it’s from but my watchmaker asumed around 1962-1964 (?k)
Oh i know it’s rare. I think mine and yours are the only two i have ever seen with this dial. Polishing is not going to happen either
The inside of the case back will tell. Three first digits will be case ref. Last two is production year.
Agreed! I’d say 64-66 on the movement. All Lemania SCs I’ve seen has got the production year of the case stamped after the case ref.
Fellow OF member and watchmaker @Mitka serviced another SC for me some time ago. Link to service photos here: https://workshop.mitka.co.uk/cgi-bin/library?action=show_photos&wat_id=14&tk_id=472628292 Before shot: See link for "after picture": It is truly amazing!!!
New arrival. Lemania CH13 mono pusher chronograph from the 1930s. Stainless steel case, and a black very rare, and heavy patinated dial. Resurrected mechanically by our fellow OF watchmaker @Mitka. HAGWE!
Not that much. It is a modified Lemania 15CHT that runs very fast (potentially over 36 k). I presume it to be military. Omega has a similar one in its Museum, issued to the British Army. That one has a white dial, whereas this one resembles the design of Hanhart. http://www.chronomaddox.com/omega/archives/don_aldo_museum_visit/mwr.archive.html
What makes you think it’s redone? Possibly the lume dots have had a touch up? Here’s one of your mine for reference:
The lume dots are perfect little biscuits, so not that. At the 8 marker, the minute track is a bit uneven. Compared with yours, though, it looks like it might be original after all!. Tom
Perhaps yours just had a slight slip-up from a watchmaker at some point. Apologies for the poor picture quality. No good light at this time of day, and light tent not rigged. These are all my cal 30xx with this dial layout: Regular, black 17 ruby version: Black 21 ruby version And a straight on shot of my white(ish) 21 ruby version. Cheers!
