Looks like Wadsworth did make some Futurematic cases:
You can see the “W” logo at the bottom of the dial.

Ah, didn't realize it was at doubt! Here's mine, apart on my bench :

Is a very complicated to take off the back case in the futurematic..I've always been a bit hesitant with mine

Not really? the back comes off with the movement attached. I pulled the clamp off that is in the little indent (though I don't think it provides attachment to the case, I think that is friction fit only), which revealed plenty of room to fit a screwdriver and was able to pry it out.

I figured it'd be Wadsworth, they seem to be the most prolific American case maker for Swiss movements.

Not just Wadsworth. Keystone and Lapwell (L with circle) also made gold-filled and 14K gold cases for the Futurematic. Keystone made some of the steel cases, although many were made in Switzerland also.

I'm not familiar with the makers of the E501 and E502 Swiss made cases.

Mine says cased and timed too, but has a manufacturer of the case on it too. Perhaps they aren't all signed?

There is probably a hallmark and maker's mark on the outside of the case. Not all cases were signed though.

The casing and timing was done by Longines-Wittnauer, Inc., who were the importer of LeCoultre watches from the 1940's through the late 1970's.
