Larger link at 12 o'clock

Hello everyone,

Today I received my Omega Speedmaster 3861 that I ordered online. Right out of the box, I noticed that the first link on the 12 o'clock side is slightly wider than the lugs, which causes it to catch on them. Because of this, the bracelet doesn't taper down as well as the 6 o'clock side. Is there a solution for this?

Maybe you should take it to an AD or boutique and ask them to fix it. Otherwise return the watch.

That doesn't look right. To add more context, please tell us where you bought the watch from online. Did you purchase it straight from Omega or an authorized dealer?

I purchased it on Chrono24, from Wancora Watches. The price was a less than the authorized dealer nearby could offer. But maybe that is with a reason.

In that case I would give the seller a chance to fix this situation. If this is the listing, you obviously received something other than what they are advertising.

Try to measure the first link at the widest part. That has to be wider than 20mm.

A few minutes with a bench grinder should fix it. 🤪

I have a new 3861 Speedmaster originally sold thru an AD in July 2024, no issues or interference at all. Yours just looks odd, because that link is way too wide and no 3861 bracelet uses a link wider than 20mm. My first question is, is the bracelet authentic, it would be odd for Omega to make a part that far out of spec and then mount it on a watch and have it pass inspection. Weird. I would return it because you are aren't going to be happy with a grind and repolish of the two faces of that link.
