I wasn’t implying you were doing something wrong by the way - and eBay isn’t the wrong place to look. Nice pie pan dialed Constellations simply don’t come up in no-reserve auctions very often. @Shabbaz advise is a good one, even though it was written with a wink, and the same is true for eBay. It takes persistence and patience, quite possibly for a few months or even a year. I wouldn’t limit the search to Canada by the way, but you do of course have to factor in import taxes.

The jumbo Connie you posted is a different matter, as these are even more uncommon than pie pan Constellations.

When looking for prices, check OF listings of the past and use the ebay search for sold articles. The fixed prices people are asking for current offers don’t tell you much about how many of these actually do get sold. The classifieds here are also a good place to check regularly, but well-priced examples do move quickly.

Allow me to also add an example: This 2852 was sold I think about half a year ago on ebay. Good pictures, description was alright, the seller even granted the right of return for 2 weeks or so. Ended at ~1450€. It’s not perfect, but still attractive in my book. I doubt the OE would offer this for less than 3000€ tbh, hence my comment about market value vs OE prices.

I can second @Shabbaz' advice for Japanese dealers particularly for the Jumbo Constellation. And then you still have to be patient. I was lucky to have found mine within days after signing up on buyee.jp (proxy service to access Yahoo Japan as a foreigner) and paid less than $1400 (before shipping and taxes).

Appreciate the advice and direction. I got into the hobby very recently and seeing historical sales is making me very frustrated. On eBay I don’t restrict region, but some sellers don’t ship to Canada so those sales are hidden to me. I used to ship to my US shipping service, but the land border hasn’t been open for a bit. Hence why when I see OE’s listings I don’t immediately think they are too expensive compared to what I have seen now. Time to practice patience and go on more hunts.

The jumbo connie was made for the Asian market. So it's best to search there. Enjoy the hunt! And when you see one, make sure you did your homework before so you can handle quickly. Sometimes people wait to long and somebody snatches it up in front of you. Knowledge is everything...

Some of examples I have found over the years and all were sourced from Japan/Thailand.
Some I got from auction sites and others direct from dealers. All say Japan on the extract from the Omega archive.
You will need patience to get a really good example of the early references with a deluxe dial so enjoy the hunt.
