Very nice indeed.
But to carry on the dome dial theme.
18k deluxe.

If only to coax out some more of your splendid Constellations 😉

Ok, will do a backside photo instead.

I am definitely more partial to very late 50’s onwards just because these models have significantly better water resistance than the early to mid 50’s examples. I particularly like the doglegs, the hidden crown variants, and some of the later models like the 168.0065. The humidity and rain in tropical Australia where I am makes them a much better bet as I need fresh seals that work to protect dials, but in more friendly climates the early ones are stunning watches.

This has already been said, but don’t neglect the dome dialed references from consideration. They are lovely watches, some with very unique styling, and usually sell for less than their pie pan cousins. One of my favorites is the “hidden crown” 168.004.

Then you also want a .010 semi-hidden crown in black, correct?

You wouldn’t want it. It is one of those nasty pie pans. I took it out of circulation when I first saw it. Yuck.::rimshot::

Geez, I'm 0 for 2. I better stick with mine. You still love your 14381, right? 😁

Alright so I went through the 98 pages of vintage connie show and tell post and I've narrowed it down:
-Pie Pan
-Broad Arrow but skinny arrow markers are a maybe
-No arabic numbers
-No Date
-No gold capped cases
-Prefer 5xx movement vs bumper
-Smooth even patina'd dial is ok but spotty/blotchy is a no go
-Bracelet is not important

So I believe that narrows it down to a 2852 or a deluxe 2853?? Unless there the unusual 14381 w/ broad arrows.
I love the idea of a solid rose gold case, but 18k would work. If solid gold case is too pricey or too hard to find then a steel case with rose gold (preferred) or gold accents.

So if I'm looking for a fairly clean example what price differences would I expect for these variants in today's market?:
-Deluxe all solid gold (is rose gold more or less expensive than 18k?)
-18k or rose gold case w/light dial w/matching gold markers
-18k case w/ black dial
-steel case w/gold markers (or white gold looks great as well)

Some pretty ones on the 98 pager that caught my eye and would fit the bill:

Once again, thanks in advance for your wisdom and thoughts!
Cheers!

You are looking at some top of the line Constellations, and many are hard to find. But on the bright side, you know exactly where to find them. 😉

I guess I have problem of having an eye for the finer things in life 😜

I'll begrudgingly will have to wait until somebody gets "tired" of theirs ... or dies and some unknowing family member posts it for sale 😕

For me it's got to be piepean, arrowhead and rose gold. Like this one.

I have been looking for this exact config model but no luck so far. Only find this photo of the same model but all not for sale 🙁

The easiest to find in good very good condition of those that you now mention would be a yellow gold Deluxe, so a 2853. There are always a few of these for sale at any one time on Ebay and elsewhere. Prices are variable, but reckon on between €4.5 and €5.5K

Trench or rail track dials deserve a mention too, though it is difficult to find them in good condition.

Have the pie pan dial ever been replicated / copied by any other watch companies? Is the pie pan the most distinctive Omega dial?
