Lovely! That case looks much beefier than that of the old master moon with the similar layout. Is it, or is it just perceptual?

I think the larger case diameter of Adam's current 39mm MC (vs the previous 37mm Master Moon) makes it look beefier. The lugs on the current model look slightly fatter too, vs the previous model.

Oddly enough though the case looks thicker too in Adam's picture, but actually both old and new models are about the same thickness (10.6mm), which is not really all that thick.

Have to say, that's a pretty cool dad

Agreed! Let me know if he wants to adopt another "grateful" child! That's stunning.

Check under the couch. That's where we always find things we lose like the remote.

I was thinking about trying a lighter color 'gator strap on this, and am very pleased with the Kelaran strap which arrived today. By the way the spring bars were curved when I removed them.

Looks terrific! I actually prefer it to the black.

It was actually a very dark chocolate brown before, but I really preferred a lighter color strap. I do love the quality of both, however.

Sorry for the crappy iPad pics above. I'll try to take some better ones soon.

Doesn't matter what strap is on it - it's a killer watch. Hell, you could use spirit gum to stick it to your wrist with no strap and it's stil awesome.

Is that safe? Really, you've got to be careful what you say here or someone will try it. 馃槈

+1 on that. In fact, that watch and the recent RG Geophysic has made me suddenly and irrationally want to buy a RG watch!

Do they have a wristwatch version of the Darwin Awards?

"Irrationally" is a relative term. There's nothing irrational about wanting a rose gold watch when you hang out with watch nerds.

It's rose gold and no longer mine. As with most watches, I moved it along to a forum member. It's one of the few I'd buy back and we've flirted with the idea when that member was thinking of buying the 14k railroad dial last year.

Yes, that watch has been through a "chain of custody" over the past few years, not saying it wasn't splendid while it lasted...

If he still owns it, he might. He found one with the arabic numbers 12, 3, 6,. and 9 which is the version he wanted even more.

Does anyone know why the older Master Moon had the 0 to 29 1/2 seconds labels? So odd... what's the purpose of that? Why not just label it 0 to 30? I thought it must be some flyback mechanism at first, but the seconds hand just continues around into the unlabeled area as a normal second hand would. So what's up with the "29 1/2"? I mean there's not even a tickmark so it's by its nature inaccurate, so the precision of "29 1/2" seems really odd. Anyone have a better explanation for why JLC did this?
