Nice work.
Is it just a dial you have?
Thanks, Michael

No. This dial came along with a 2915 movement...

It's not for sale.

I just wanted to show what James can do.

Ah, OK.
What is the movement number range? 1599x or 15500x?

Thanks for the info... So he can basically replicate any vintage lume looks, both in normal light and UV is what I'm reading....

Thanks!

Paul

I saw some of James's work at a recent T4aP. It is excellent and the lume glow subtle, but it does not react in the same way as an original in the way it charges, so it is possible to differentiate between them.

I have also a very Good experience with James.

I also had the Speedmaster (145.012-68) with washed Dial for a while and thought reluming it was a risk..

But send it to James because of the Good reviews and was suprised !

Here pictures before and after.

The work on 2915 will be spottable very easy cuz the structure is way to even.

I see no issue with that. To my way of thinking this type of dial restoration is akin to a repair on a damaged table stretcher or the foot of a wine cooler. The object is to rectify damage and stabilise the piece for the future. In other words, to make the item attractive and usable. If the restoration were done in such a way to make the dial indistinguishable from a perfect, aged example then it would be bordering on fakery.

As this stands it's a very good, if not excellent, honest repair. (IMHO).

Exactly.

And if I was to sell the watch, I'd surely mention that the dial has been restored.
