Hi,

I have an IWC with serial number on case and movement, but no ref number stamped.

Is it possible to determine the ref number without looking through age appropriate catalogs?

Thanks!

P.S. I have applied for membership at the IWC forums, but acceptance is pending.

Looks Ok.

Likely no ref. #, though there were always internal numbers.

Thanks, trying to source a correct crystal, was thinking a ref no would help.

Do you have a watchmaker who will be replacing it, or do you plan to do it yourself?

Much as I would like to DIY, don’t have the tools. So my watchmaker would be doing it.

Most watchmakers have a selection of crystals on hand to install. If not, they can measure it accurately and order a replacement. I doubt your watchmaker wants you to attempt to provide a crystal.

From looking at the case, especially the lugs, this looks like a Ref. 1410.

However, the movement would be a cal. 402, not a cal. 89. Similar, but not the same.

Hope this helps,
