Selection process seems a bit ridiculous and they lost me completely with the price tag for this "exclusivity".

My fav...attributed to Betts but actually a WC Fields....
“I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The other half I wasted.”

A similar quote:
"I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered,"

I am still wondering how the exclusiveness works if you get to pick 5 friends who can also buy one....Are you going to have to call each other before going out together to make sure you don't wear the same watch?

Anyone seen or heard anything more about Vertex in the real world? Can't seem to find anyone with one on IG...

It always cracks me up how the WIS community thinks when a watch is associated with the military that makes it cool. In the real world, so much military kit was selected because it was cheap, or somehow a deal was struck that somebody made money on. In the real world, a lot of military issue is and was absolute crap.

Not crap...

Not crap...

Definitely not crap...

Note this is not my rifle, but I shot one just like it when in the army. My serial number for this and the Sterling 9 mm SMG are still engrained in my brain even though it was close to 35 years ago. Okay the SMG was kind of crap (I never had problems with mine), but I loved my FNC1A1. Reliable and very accurate...

Cheers, Al

Just a heads up...there may be a pop quiz at any time regarding the recitation of those serial numbers...so...be ready. 😁

The guy has had a career in the luxury world, so I suppose he understands what he's doing. He's not aiming at the watch loving crowd, but some other crowd with whom he is acquainted. Hope I never meet them.

I'm surprised by the pheon. These are not military issue. The original Vertex company didn't own that mark. It seems to me he may be misappropriating it.

Molded lume is an interesting idea.

W.C. Fields
Insurance salesman, shouting up to W.C. Fields, who's on a second story porch trying to sleep after his wife kicked him out of bed:
"Good morning, sir, do you happen to know a Mr. Carl LaFong, capital l, small a, capital f, small o, small n, small g; LaFong, Carl LaFong?"
W.C. Fields, irritated:
"No, I don't know a Mr. Carl Lafong, capital l, small a, capital f, small o, small n, small g; and if I did I wouldn't tell you!"

Okay, it's not relevant, but it's funny.

The first thing that popped into my head when I say those markers is those glow in the dark stars kids stick on the ceiling.
