This reminded me of when the class would try to get the substitute to look up Pen -- Island. Funny still to this day, perhaps I am still a child ☺️.

My writing looks like a demented 3 legged chicken on LSD has been running about on the page……….no pen no matter how good or beautiful is going to help that………loverly though they are, any of these magnificent instruments would be wasted on me!

I disagree!
You would just scraggle faster and with more fun !!

I’ve managed to amass several Cross sets and singles over the years. One still with box and papers, I guess that one is worth a fortune now 😝::psy::.

Sterling silver Parker set, fountain and pencil.

Esterbrook fountain and pencil singles, I know their mates are here somewhere.

And just for grins a Westinghouse pencil, of unknown make. Dad worked there late ‘50’s early ‘60’s ?
I really enjoy my Cross Century, very smooth, and thin... it looks tiny nex to the Twsbi

Anybody remember the Sheaffer “Snorkel” fountain pen? I’ve got one around here, somewhere. My late father was big on the Snorkel pen.

Yeah, same here... I'll probably get one at one time.
I feel more comfortable with the lever filler mechanism somehow

I found my late father’s Sheaffer “Snorkel” pen. Note the white “dot” trademark on the cap.

1/ The Snorkel”.

2/ Cap removed. (Surprise! Nib marked Made in Canada!)

3/ Twist the knurled end (right) on the pen to eject the “snorkel”.

4/ Snorkel extended. Dip the snorkel into the ink well, and pull the knurled end outward. Ink drawn into the pen. Withdraw pen from
Ink well.

5/ Turn knurled end of pen clockwise to retract the snorkel.

This pen (and matching pencil approximately 60 to 70 years old.

When I look back to when I was a Kid, I really regret not keeping all the vintage fountain pens that I had collected, would be worth a small fortune now.
I started collecting them when I was about 8 or 9 years old in the latter part of the 60's at jumble sales and school fairs.

At that time people were divesting themselves of all that old stuff in favor of more modern writing equipment and very good to superb ( nowadays) brands could be had for 10 cents or so.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, some one should have written that down in ink, oh wait, they did, I was to young to read it 🙁

More ink to play with 😀
Really liking the Summer Purple... The Midnight one from Diamine seems darker than the Blue Black from Parker (to my eyes ofc)
Need to find a pairing pen for the Green/Black one.
