Afternoon all,
I'm looking to verify a potentially rash purchase from the bay. In keeping with usual standards, the watch has neither papers or box. However, on receiving the watch, it looks and feels genuine.
The details are as follows:
Model: Omega Seamaster 2531.80.00
Serial number (from lower right lug): 80585228
I've attached a few pictures.
Hello, I bought a Speedmaster several years back from an online shop with box and papers. After purchasing I had done a decent amount of investigation work to confirm its authenticity and by every measure I can see, the watch looks genuine. Recently though I brought it to an Omega store to discuss getting it serviced and when they looked up the serial # in their database, it did not come up. They agreed it looked genuine visually. I have a few questions I was hoping to get answered:
(a) is there is a database anywhere of known fakes that I can cross reference?
(b) what is the likelihood of a watch made that long ago doesn't show up in Omega's internal records?
(c) my warranty card is handwritten; I've seen this discussed on the forum before, but I want to confirm that this does happen for genuine pieces?
Pictures help our thinking. There is a strong possibility that there's missing information in Omega's database. Of course, since we have no idea which Speedmaster we're talking about, there's not a lot of info we can give you about that.
Would it be better to send pictures of the movement? Or the front? And am I or am I not supposed to blur the serial #?
The 4 numbers are 8234
First four are 4827. Adding some pictures.
And sorry, it's an 863 movement ref 3592.500, you'll notice the gilt movement. Card says it was made (or sold?) in 1992. Also, the T next to swiss made signifies tritium, correct?
