I have an Omega where the back has the first watch on the moon, Nasa and whatnot but it says seamaster instead of speedmaster. The front says speedmaster 1957. The bracelet says speedmaster professional and 455B1. Fake? I'll try to post pictures tomorrow. Hard to take a pic of the back with the bracelet on. Thanks!

Nevermind I opened the back up and no serial number and no omega stamps on the movement. Fake.

Anything to check on a potential Speedy purchase? I’ll be seeing it in person prior to purchasing.

What are your thoughts on it?

Buyer seems legit - he’s local to me. He has a receipt from purchasing it in 2019, no box, but both cards look good with matching serial on the lug. I just didn’t know if there are any good “tells” to look out for. I assume the serial, and maybe the omega mark on the hestalite?

That single photo is of horrible quality, but the watch is real. I see no tells.

I am curious though, recently you have shotgunned a variety of different watches asking if they are fake without providing any of your own insight. Have you spent time researching any of these watches? I ask what your thoughts are, because sharing what you have learned, and your reasons for thinking a certain way, will help your confidence grow in determining real or fake.

Yeah - I do a lot of research but it’s still scary out there with all the fakes being SO good. This one is local which is a plus for me. Mainly just seeking the reassurance from my community of enthusiasts.

Hi. I have the opportunity to purchase this watch. I did a fair bit of research on my own to verify the authenticity and couldn't find anything wrong. However, considering the size of this investment, I was hoping to get it viewed by your expert eyes as well. It comes with the original box, accessories, and the cards. Apparently it was purchased from Omega's flagship Chungnam boutique in Seoul, which appears to be closed down now. Doing a close comparison with Omega's stock photos (dial, sub dials, hands, color shades, etc.) I can't find any issues. I also realized that I can pull up the Chrono master certification information on Omega's website and the serial number + access code on the card successfully worked to pull up the test result information. Thanks in advance!

The watch in those photos is real 👍. Honestly, Snoopy fakes are horrendous and are really easy to spot. It’s not just “off” colors but just everything about them is horrible.

Thank you for your response. That makes sense. I cam across 2,3 replica varieties and learnt about their tells. But then I realized that they were from 2021 and 2022, and thought to myself that they are probably getting better everyday.

If you intentionally search for counterfeit watches, you should be aware that many counterfeit sellers will actually use pictures of genuine watches in their advertisements. Not all but many do.

As for “getting better every day”, that is true for counterfeits of sought after genuine references such as Rolex Subs and Omega Seamasters. However, even the best of those watches fall catastrophically apart once you look at the movements. That said, I have yet to see a convincing fake Speedy. Even the most current ones are 👎

Got it! I appreciate your insights.

Hi all,

I'm pretty sure but would greatly appreciate if someone can confirm a bracelet is fake.

Was supposed to be a 1503/825 but it's actually a 1502/824 so the bracelet I have for reference might not be 100% good now because it's technically a different model.

Real bracelet is attached to the watch FYI

Concerns I have:
- In the un-clear photos the logo looked like it was just heavily polished so the embossing on the clasp was very shallow - now getting it in real life it doesn't appear this way it looks just...off. Proportions/etc.
- The Omega in Triangle symbol next to the 1502/824 is higher than what I'm seeing other listings online are
- Rivet next to the model number looks considerably different than my real one
- Smaller details but again my only close comparison I can do is a slightly different model number so I don't know which differences would suggest fake

The bogus eBay link in your quote is for the newest Bond Seamaster, not a Snoopy. Just to clarify, the images in that listing depict real watches, not fakes. The listing itself, however, is a complete scam. The seller isn’t actually selling watch but the idea of a watch. They will take your money and run.

Yes, the same sellers list a snoopy for 2500 under a different name. Sold it multiple times.

Not sure it's under the same exact seller, but what they write is the same.

Thought I’d ask the experts here on this PO Chrono. Comes with papers but no box and the seller has a good reputation on Chrono24. Aside from authenticity does it look like the watch has been polished aggressively? Any thoughts?
