Close, but no papers. How much are papers worth?
Hard to say actually.. what do you all think?

I guess it's more worth something like 10 000 euros. My question was serious. To what extent some papers makes a wathc more valuable in this geek watch wolrd.

10% for me... 😉

But then, I think $9200 for a transitional is very optimistic.... But what do I know?

$9000 for the complet is still higher, but easily $3000 for bezel is OK.Some people must have to look up and do some homework in %.

If you are talking about buying the MWO then:
https://www.bookdepository.com/

But if you're referring to the watch on the cover...well...how the feck (as Father Ted would say) would I/we know - seriously.🤔 Until you know exactly what it is you're looking at you can't even guess at the value in my humble opinion.

😗🤦

Hmmm...13,500 USD (or for me AUD18,000) is still very ambitious imho...anyway, is there a reason why the DoN isn't in situ on the head? Presentation counts when you're asking top,top dollar...

My question was about the watch itself, which belong to one of the author, not the book...
I was just curious to know if the fact that, despite its very nice condition, the watch make the cover will increase collector attention and consequently the price...
It is a transitional of course...

Just a question..

If correct I think that same piece is on page 291 of MWO.
To be honest, I can't see why appearing on the cover of a book should specifically confer (or infer) an increase of value for this or any particular watch (or any item for that matter) but I bet it it must have a little influence for some. I get what you are saying though. No doubt, the watch market is a fluid one, as I see it, so I do agree that desirability and hence pricing is as much about market positioning as it is about market perception. There is no doubt that exposure helps desirability but it still comes down to the buyer willing to buy that perceived desirability. Put it this way, I wouldn't rush out and pay AUD18,000 for a transitional just because it appeared on the cover of MWO or even Vogue for that matter. But that's just me. Just my .02 cents. 😁

This is a much better watch. Better dial better bezel. Serial is clearly shown to be associated with watch, bezel is lovely, easily a $3,000 bezel.

Still higher than any transitional transaction I know of.....

- no papers
- better bezel, probably
- better case and dial, I don't think so
- S/Number associated ... There's no picture of the movement
- service unknown : mine was serviced a few months ago.

some other issues without saying it can't be regarded as a transitional :

produced in 69
27xxxx serial number
crystal does not look from 1969
which for some geeks is important.

But never mind, you decided some time ago that I was here with the intention of scamming someone... keep going.

You've mentioned serial numbers before as a negative against other examples, but again, this serial is fine for a -68 transitional.

Also, the -68 doesn't mean all examples were produced in 1968, it's more of a model reference no.
