Agree with David. These new pics show the dial in better detail and it looks fine to me.

Here's mine, also yellow.

Good luck with your (friend's) sale!

I enjoy the silly bickering, not that the thread is about Speedmasters.

Threads like this are perpetual ping pong matches.

The internet, after all, is all about arguing!

Look this forum isn't a Jaipur tourist bazaar where every trade starts at a price double the going rate.

I still say offering this reference, incomplete, for

$13500

Is an invitation for us all to jump all over it.

the nearest comparable recently was asking $8500 and probably sold (after some weeks) for a bit less. - and generally I feel that was a very strong price. This can be justified, if there is little to quibble about. There are buyers who will over pay if the price is the only thing wrong.

If the OP watch had been offered at $6500 or even the optimistic $8500 then it might not have raised a peep. (It might even have sold).

Stick on eBay, or Chrono24 for $13,500, but not here.

Why? Because here you are calling us idiots if you think you have any justification whatsoever for asking this price on what is essentially a close knit forum - other than to catch someone who is new or naive or trusting of the members of this forum. After all, what's the first advice we give to newcomers?

"Go look on the forum private watch sales."

Honestly who among us would recommend this watch at $13,500? What would we say to someone who bought it ? Good deal? Hardly.

We do get the occasional high price sales attempts here, but not yet one defended quite so vehemently with such little evidence.

And yes as said many times, sellers can ask what they want. But if you ask a crazy price in this forum, don't expect me to stay quiet.

Spacefruit
fist of all, I don't think your entitled to say a word about the policy of the forum. You are a member, So am I. As for word like "catching a newcomer" I find that particularly not justified. A sale is a deal between two persons. After 8 pages of discussion, I may hope that someone knows what he's buying. Defend vehemently? Are you serious? Sorry if my english sound like that. The fact is I just answered the question and some free attacks.
Some of us, seem to think the price is jutified though a bit high at seing the watch. If it's not your opinion, why should it be the right one?
Have I unhonnestly encouraged some of you to buy my watch? Have I made a faulse description of the item? No I don't think so. Don't worry that much for me. If the price too high the watch won't sell and I can't understand why you worry so much about it.
Second things. I asked on this thread, an example of some other watch in full set in this condition and IMO, Noboby could show me one yet. It would be really pretentious from me to say the reason why it did not happen is because there must not be a lot around, but I'm close to believing it.

If the Ops judge that the price asked is incompatible with the policy of this forum and without any anger, they'll take the decision of closing this thread and deleting my ad. That is no invitation to doing so but about making one's mind on something that seem to embarass many of you. They would probably alrready have said to me that my behaviour was out of line which is not the case for the time being.
If Someone is interested by the watch, As I suppose he's an adult, He'll know how to contact me.
I don't now how all that came to such proportions really. Without disrepect to some other member I see a watch listed for sale at 35 000 bucks in poor condition that does not seem to cause any problem to anybody.
To other members. No intention at all to scam anybody. you're welcome in Paris any time you want to see the watch IRL whenever you want. One or two other thing. I listed some other speedies at, shall I say, more standard prices, so if I listed this one at this price there are some minimum reasons for that (still IMO)

Does it sound fair enough to all of you? As I heard before, no I'm not desperate nor feeling ludicrous.

good night to all of you

Finally the most important will be to see the sold price... I hope the seller to let us know the final verdict 😀

Another transitional should be for sale soon and should break the top value of sold transitional (maybe not in the visible market I guess)... Not because of the full set... But something eve more attractive I guess... Maybe one of the most known speedy in the world.. 😀

Hi Fost, Yes I'll tell you if you wish. Think I'm going to withdraw it here. Can you tell me about the other transitional, I'd be glad to see the final price.

cheers
