Hi,
I’ve never owned a Panerai before and would like to get some much needed help about this watch, whether or not it is original or fake. My gut tells me it’s real but I’ve heard stories about people buying som really good fake ones. Can someone help me? The model is PAM 243

No idea on this watch, but I too have heard quite a few stories of quality fakes out there, enough that I personally would not feel comfortable buying one from anyone but Panerai.

You'll have to open case back. They have perfected fake Pam a decade a go.

Let's hope for the best then 😁

He have a box but no certificate, but bought from a trsuted seller from Europe.
The bezel is stuck though which doesn't help...
The postive? The price 😀

Having almost gotten burnt by a very good fake some time ago, I’d steer clear of anything not with paperwork - by which I mean the little stickers that are usually on the box, sometimes separate and or Panerai service .
Passed on what I was content to be a genuine Panerai in the summer from a specialist on the basis it didn’t have the box and paperwork.
Selling on would be much more difficult if you needed to .

I wouldn't care if it had the certificate. I've seen it all when it comes to Panerai. I bought a few genuine examples in the past in Cebu City but I always had the seller wait while my watch tech took the entire thing apart to scrutinize the case machining. Then, of course as previously mentioned, selling the things off was a chore as well. I avoid them like the plague as most NYC collectors now do.

Why is the seller letting you have it for such a good price? Mother needs an operation? 😕

Thank you OP for posting this as I've been looking to add a Panerai to the collection for some time.

Thank you all for your insight...advice heeded, will be extremely careful now, likely only buying one direct from Panerai (and keeping all box/papers/hangtag/stickers/etc.)
