Hi, I found this Omega seamaster planet ocean, 007 edition in my dads cupboard but I cant see any similar models online when I put in the model number. I want to know if it is real or not because then i would pay to get the strap fixed.

Here's a sure way to check in 1 sec.
does that mean whoever made the fake watch wanted it to seem like it is the first watch out of the 5007 produced?

It means there are a million of these #1 of 5007 watches out there. The factory is too lazy or wanted to make a clear 'tell' of the fakes.
What are the odds of you finding the first of 5007 watches made by Omega? 0.0 They made it easy on this one.

Edit: my post deserves a::facepalm1::

To the OP: the dial, case, hands, HE valve, caseback, all wrong. Underside of the endlink looks like it was cast at a factory that makes cheap pewter figures

Just wondering - are you going to tell your dad about this?

my guess is his dad knows, which is why it has not been "repaired"

My conclusion on skimming through multiple posts of fb/forums: Dads and granddads seem to like to keep fake watches in cupboards/drawers, but never wear them. A couple of questions:
1. Do mothers and grandmothers ever have (fake) watches kept in their cupboards/drawers?
2. Do the dads/grandads/mothers/grandmothers ever have a pic taken of them wearing said (fake) watches?
3. Do sons and daughters like to pry into their dads/grandads/mothers/grandmothers' cupboards?
4. Can these (fake) watches be found elsewhere other than cupboards?
