because I could buy it from a friend at a much better price than what is on the market. πŸ˜€

Why are you asking if it's original? Would this friend sell you a fake?

Nowadays I don't trust my friends either. πŸ˜€
I see very few friends and plenty of β€œcouch” time in your future. πŸ˜—πŸ˜::stirthepot::

Unexpected, sad turn of this thread.

He doesn't trust his friends but trusts total strangers on the internet. πŸ€”

Sure, why not buy it. It sounds like you don't have much experience with vintage watches, so you might as well take the opportunity to buy-own-sell. I wouldn't pay to have it serviced right away, however, because there's a reasonable chance that you will ultimately decide you don't want to keep it. If you still like it after six months, then have it serviced.

I thought of keeping it for a few months to see what it looks like, and if I decide to keep it, I will service it.

Based on the strap, I'm not seeing much pride of ownership. 😁

No. You can do a long time experiment ; wear it daily as is, see when it stops, buy another old movement, have that serviced then and replace the original, now obsolete ,unserviced movement and learn that way. Might be more Fun !

Isn't it astonishing how many people put a wrong-sized strap on a watch?!
