Is this an early 64 Speedmaster Professional dial?

I've not really been following this thread but I do recognise his user name. I'm pretty sure he sells a reasonable amount of watches and parts.

Never dealt with him though so no idea on the legitimacy of his stock, or his selling practises.

Well, with me he tried to pull a fast one. Thanks to this forum I was saved a lot of heartache and money.

Would he have tried to source a DON bezel for you too, to swap with the as-close-to-worthless-as-makes-no-difference service bezel on the eBay watch?

At least the dial (years from now - decades, likely) will have some value as it's correct for an '80s watch.

145.022-68 without the dial or bezel is pretty much value as parts for the movement and caseback (and hands, if tritium, which in this case they appear to be). His asking price was way too high to begin with

The seller's conduct is shameful, but what also disturbs me is that the quality of the re-dials is getting to the point where multiple people have to weigh in as detectives to determine authenticity. Agonizing over whether parts of your watch are fake takes a little fun out of the whole process.

Horrible, I agree, vintage Rolex is the same way but for some reason it's easier to tell.
