Hi! I purchased an Omega Seamaster out of impulse without doing a proper research given this is my first vintage watch.

Do not know what the reference number is, all I was told is it has caliber 562. not even sure if it's authentic or a frankenstein. paid 400 USD.

is it authentic? frankenstein? need an expert opinion. Thanks

@hoipolloi what to you think of the hands, the minute hand a little short?
You are right. My bad. Too busy looking at the dial.

Agree the second hand looks slightly short but the dial, even with a couple of marks looks good. Fine for $400 imo

I think it's a very good deal

Paying attention to the hands after the discussion, they seem pink to me compared to the yellow gold indices 😁

Pinky hands going with yellow furniture are normal with vintage Omega, I think.

I think the first one is oxidization but the second one is wrong replacements hands, so hard to differentiate yellow and pink when it comes to Omega, I think it's an honest mistake

I bought all the spare hands I could find off of eBay for a while and sometimes I lucked out receiving pink hands while I was buying yellow

I do believe though: original hands, if the oxidization is removed, shade matches perfectly
