Is The Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 out of the Omega catalog?

It is indeed odd! May be they didn't have a video readily available for the Olympic LE editions of the Speedmaster so they decided to push the Apollo 8 instead!? 😕

It really seems weird to me. They have so many Olympics themed watches... why then stretch so much with Apollo 8? It doesnt seem that they need to push sales if it is drying out on Apollo 8... If that is due to marketing reasons i am really having hard time trying to understand the link... and again why advertise if it is drying out? Maybe it is the opposite then? It is not drying out and they have loads in the warehouse and being desperate to move them? 😉

Here is a photo of one AD window in Warsawtaken on Friday, pretty much everything available. I was at Warsaw airport yesterday - also full window of speedies, including Apollo 8. Omega biutique in Zurich also has them in display and for immediate sale (saw yesterday).

i sold mine to be honest last week, and here is why.

Congrats! My friend who is still waiting for ap8 says the OB told him it is the most difficult to get watch with only 5 delivery this year for 2 OB in my country.

Next is 321 followed by 50th snoopy with supply of around 4 per month.

The Apollo 8 doesn't get much discussion these days as newer, hotter stuff has been released in the three years since it first was announced, but I still think it is the sleeper in the current catalogue. It is a striking watch with a design completely outside the typical Speedmaster box. How long Omega continues to trickle these out is unknown, but it will be a future 'must have' for serious collectors. We have no idea how many have been made but considering the price and general availability from dealers it can't be a huge number.

As of this morning it is shown as available for purchase on the Omega USA eCommerce site. They seem to be out of stock most of the time.

One more thing; The Apollo 8 can be ordered from the Omega website. It's definitely not discontinued.

It can be ordered today, but check back in a day, or next week, and most likely it will be shown as 'out of stock' again.

30% in good old days. Not feasible any more probably.

I got 15% off a month ago from an AD in Maryland. Asked for 20% but they wouldn't do it. I'm still very happy.

Sales clerk said my watch had been sitting in their Omega display case for over 6 months.

This watch is a stunner in real life. I just received mine from my OB, with minimal discount. It takes me an extra 5 seconds to read the time because of the dial skeletonized details and craters, but I don’t mind spending the extra time admiring, lol.

I bought one of these yesterday. It didn’t seem that difficult to get. I asked about it at the Omega Boutique on Monday and they had it in the shop Thursday and I picked it up Friday.

So maybe they are making more of these. Makes me think I maybe should have tried an AD and tried to get a discount.

The Apollo 8 is one watch I'd like to get despite my self-imposed celibacy from further watch purchases, but economics would dictate I'd need a steep discount to get it.

Resurrecting an older thread. I was on Omega's website today and it says "We're sorry, but this product is no longer available. Make sure you join the waiting list".

That usually means it's discontinued. It's been in the catalog for four years, and uses a non-METAS movement based on the discontinued 1861. It's probably time for it to go.

Must be depended on where you're clicking from. It is still available from Poland and apparently I saw them at ADs recently.
