Blue Side of the Moon opinion

I recently purchased a Omega Speedmaster "Blue Side of the Moon" 304.93.44.52.03.001, 30493445203001 for $8100. I could not be happier with the watch as it is striking but not over the top. It came with all papers/boxe and such and was wondering if I paid a fair price? Also, I noted that the same watch 2022 models face has dots which apparently portray stars. Does anyone know if this in unique to this year as my watches face is solid blue. I have 3 other older Speedy and was pleasantly surprised at the makeup and appearance of the newer watch. Your opinion on this is greatly appreciated

I had a BSOTM a few years ago but found the size and thickness just a bit too extreme for me, and the blue ceramic appeared chalky in natural light. It was just too much blue for me. Mechanically it was great, but it just didn't get any wrist time so I sold it. I eventually got an Apollo 8, black ceramic case, same size but in a thinner package. It's all good, enjoy your watch.

I love this watch! Great pick-up.

The Aventurine model (304.93.44.52.03.002) is really cool but the dial feels a bit busy to me. I love the Sedna gold hands, indexes, and moon phase but the stars all over the dial felt a bit much. A blue/sedna gold version sans stars would have been very striking.

On a side note, if you were looking for an option to "dress down" your BSOTM try strap CWZ002522. I got one of these for my blue dial titanium two-register 44.25mm speedy and love it. If I recall I think this strap was for an AT Good Planet but it fits the speedy perfectly and gives it a DSOTM style vibe (coated nylon fabric strap with leather backing).

Enjoy!

Thank you. I had gotten away from the Omega getting other brands but this watch exceeded my expectations.
What did you compare it with?

It is I bit and I was concerned it would look to big but the dark color seems to make it look smaller. My other omega s are 42mm and 40mmyt

Thanks for the information on the strap. I can see why you like it.
I could not agree more regarding the Aventurine. A little to much going on with it.
I have 4 other Speedy's and those models compared to the blue side are like night and day. When I got this watch it reminded me why I love their watches.
