I have been waiting on one since January. Still hasn't arrived (and may not, I guess) but still in the catalog and available to order according to my AD here in Canada when I checked in recently.

I sold mine, and generally speaking after I sell a watch low it goes up in price by a lot so its probably due for discontinuation and scalping about now.

Hi. Questions about the run of this watch...

I understand that this watch has been in Omega's catalogue since 2018, however...
(1) was this in production the entire time - manufactured every yr
(2) was it only a 1yr run (2018) with unlimited #s
(3) something else...

Any insight is much appreciated...
(1) Yes
(2) No
(3) that’s not a question

When I was at my local OB last week, they mentioned that they had ordered one for another one of their customers earlier this year (Jan/Feb) and they haven’t gotten it in yet (July). Looks like it’s harder to source one new now. Not sure if it’s just production issues as a result of 2020’s factory shutdown. My OB used to get quite a few since the release. I had passed on one the first time it was offered to me back in 2018.

Still plenty available on Chrono 24, some at below retail price. If I was on a list with an AD or Boutique I'd be looking for an alternative source, once it is officially discontinued there will be no bargains. The fact that Omega can't deliver within six months tells you something. Read the room, guys.

Is the same happening with DSOTM Alinghi? I love the Apollo 8 but I got really pissed off with Alinghi version which felt to me like a cheap spin-off of Apollo 8. Maybe this is another platform that they turn into a cash cow and discontinue each version only to replace with another lousy spin-off... like Alinghi... only next time i am betting on blue accents...

Last time I checked they still had the Alinghi in stock on the USA website but not the Apollo 8

Yeah the Alinghi is everywhere. I get the impression they haven’t sold much. The OB mentioned that I could swap my Apollo 8 order for an alinghi as they have “plenty in stock” but that’s not the watch I ordered so I’ll continue to hold out for the A8…

The Alinghi is the classic 'answer to a question no one was asking', there really is no need or market for it. I doubt they sold many.

OB told me they are no longer taking deposit for ap8 and the wait could be 12mths or longer. Proposing instead the new 3861 speedy with exhibition caseback which will need 30% deposit and an estimated 1-2mths wait…:whipped:

Doesn't seem to be a stock issue in the UK. Just looking at Goldsmiths (major brick and mortar AD), 3 out of 4 stores within 6 miles of me have it in stock.

Hey there. New here but long time Omega owner.

Spoke with an AD they said their Omega rep instructed them to not take anymore Apollo 8 deposits and only 10 more will be shipped to the US. Estimated arrival is Oct 2021.

It’s now being heavily promoted to me on Facebook and Instagram - I’ve never seen it in Omega’s social media before.
