Is Seamaster 60 the new Seamaster 300?

A group from Turkey has been selling one Seamaster 60 after another, these are incredible looking watches, and they transparently state the dial/hands/case etc. are all aftermarket items

This is a problem in the secondary market, the buyers might not be as transparent, and it will hurt sales

I feel bad about this as it's one less watch that I can carelessly buy

The only method I can easily come up with to differentiate them is bezel spacing, the fake one is better spaced, while on originals the 30 is too close to the edge 😀

I want to also say that a 565 can be had for $200 any day, so this is like a $500/week profit operation - for a mere $2000 a month a legendary model is tainted

I'd advise buyers not to pay a $1200 premium for what's essentially a fake Omega with a genuine movement

That dial is scary, I can't tell the difference from the original...

Yeah, these guys are getting better and better. The bold white lume pips are the only give-away to me and that may just be the shitty lighting in the pics

...but this one, which seems to me totally original, has not serifs:

Maybe when dial reads seamaster only logo has serifs, when reads seamaster 60 has not serifs...
The 300 variants are really well documented so there’s some great cross reference material. Now that fakes of these are popping up, perhaps it’s time for the 60 owners to pool their resources for the collective knowledge

I was doing some ebaying over lunch and came back to this seller, turns out they are also selling an Etsy special seamaster 120 which further increases my suspicion the seller knows its aftermarket parts.

Strange thing is they also have a 5517 up for £176k - why risk selling some dodgy omegas for a few grand profit when you're also dealing in high end rolexes??

Actually, at a second glance, the fake one has better spacing once again on the caseback inner stamping as well, the original Omega is more garbled, but this doesn't mean the caseback in the photo is fake, I guess if an OF member ends up buying one we can get more information for science, it's bound to happen at one point

Look at the D

Omega Watch Co’s “o” seemed better spaced to me, do you have an inner picture?

Another variation, bizarre that they did the lone "Seamaster" too - the auctions are from different accounts yet the photos are of the same source/quality
