Is Omega Fairly Classified As An Entry Level Luxury Brand?

It always seems subjective to me but it obviously takes price into account and how much they hold their value.

For me, I think Omega produce watches with more ‘class’ and style; obviously Rolex do too but they always seem a bit more ‘blingy’ which, in my opinion, cheapens the brand for me - especially those ones with rainbow bezels etc 🤮l

Having said that, there’s a market for it and Rolex appear, on average, to be a bit more expensive.

The comment that ULYSSE NARDIN hold "value well" tells me that the whoever put this together knows feck all about watches.

On the usefulness hierarchy, this brand pyramid is on the tier beneath "bullshit."🙄

I totally agree that this pyramid is nothing worth.
If you have a look on used Glashütte watches you will see that they loos a lot of value.

That pyramid is automatically null and void for stating that Panerais hold their value well.

Yes. Panerais are an exit luxury brand.

It strikes me that one problem with any tiered approach to branding is that outside of a few high-end marques whose position seems to be eternally fixed -- the LVMH ideal of a brand/brand product that is worth precisely the same in 10 years as it is now -- like a Rolex, or PP, there is inevitably flux in every other "tier" as brands innovate, leapfrog one another, decline and fade. I can imagine key brands like PP, AP, VC plus Lange, Rolex and a few others (maybe Omega?) climbing clear of the pack but beyond that it seems a pretty random ranking.

So the pyramid suggests that luxury equals stable market value?
That's the no 1 watch newbie argument to buy a "luxury timepiece".

I am no expert, too little knowledge for that, but can Panerai be and Hublot be above Omega?

Thankfully I buy watches I like rather than were they are based on where they are on a pyramid.

totally and wickedly wrong. where is seiko?

Seiko produce such a range of watches at all price points, so should be in multiple positions on the pyramid.

this pyramid has many mistakes!! Not only with wrong placements but also mistakes on watch brand names like "bulgardi"

Maybe i will create my own pyramid and place OMEGA along with Rolex or Cartier etc (cause not all models hold ther price)

As with all brands, the model line comprises of entry as well as high-end. Take a look at the entry aqua terra, then you can go to the enamel world-timer that was released awhile back. Furthermore, the omega tourbillon...

Just dont foget to mention the year when your pyramid was created and what criteria was used to weight the brands! 😉

If I were making such a pyramid (and I'm not going to) it would be based on things like quality, innovation, etc. and not ability to hold value after being sold.

To me, "holding value" is not even a criteria I pay attention to...

My answer to where Omega fits is the same as Rolex - both are mid-tier brands at best.

Invicta CRUISE?!?!?!
I can't even begin to imagine the amount of douchebaggary and just general bullshit present on that boat.
And of course its on a Carnival.

(Not hating on all Invicta wearers but mostly all Invicta wearers of central to south Florida.)

I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise this past summer and they were selling them in the main deck lobby. Too funny
