·I have not bothered to post my pocket watches. Such would simply become lost in the mega thread. No real way to for others to go back to and search.
Not warming to my pocket watches the same I am to the wrist watches. Eventually I will get back to the stop watches and the repeaters. Now when I look at the waltham and elgin stuff. I see steampunk art. I never got into the collectable railroad stuff or the high bullion cases. Thirty years ago it seemed parts were available and interchangeable. This was before the Data sheets for WW could be downloaded with consistent part numbering. Most of the PW spares are 120 or more years old.
Casing PW also got to be a chore. Big stable lathes and engine turning machines are needed. Dial required kilns and a lot of waste product. Other than the dial and case deco, there is not a lot of PW variation till one gets into the enameled cases. I spend years playing with enamel painting. One of the drawers is full of those experiments.
I suppose the Other watch brands could be used for PW. Watches posted there tend to get a few likes. Then that is what this is all about post a picture of a watch. Then post a picture of the next watch ...
Of course one gets to see an like all the other watches (and the dog pictures. I really miss the dog, but need to wait before getting the next one. Winter is probably not a good time to get a new pet.)
I see midnight the cat is across the room sitting on her throne. Cats have it made. Her pillow has an electric heating pad in it.
