Interesting Speedy projects with a donor 1836 I am considering.

I really wish there was a thread for a parts mod sale/swap and for bracelets by location. Just by messaging some people and this thread alone, I think I found some people who live in LA, Central CA, and the Bay Area. Now for the holidays I am in the Bay Area and desperate to pick up a 3861 bracelet or Apollo 11 Flat Link!

You can always go to an OB and just order them, and some might have the 3861 in stock. You'll pay full price, of course, but you probably won't find too many 3861 or Apollo 11 bracelets on the used market.

Don't forget Uncle Seiko is also here in California! And I must say, whilst not being OEM, the value, quality & comfort of the US Soyuz bracelet is really hard to beat, so much so that I've taken off the Apollo 50th flat link.

I have also acquired a 3861 bracelet for my mod project. Planning to get a ceramic bezel too.

Post pics of the ceramic bezel once you've made the switch as it's on my list too! 😀

After some research and contacting OF members, I think I found "my" bracelet for my Apollo 11 35th mod. The 1498/840! Modern looking Speedmaster Pro bracelet like the 1998, polished center links, solid end links, but with the older vintage 20mm/16mm taper. Solid bracelet, but lighter than the 1998, so it's not so jarring when I switch over from the vintage 105.012 with the 1039. Maybe thinking to find a 18mm push button clasp to "perfect" it. Thanks @Noles_88 for the sale.

How funny..... the Speedy I used for my project watch (145.022-76) was also purchased from the great @Noles_88
Lol. I found noles_88 by scanning through a year worth of bracelet sales until I found one that wasn't sold. Then we worked out an offer. Resourceful OF minds think alike!

Just put it on. Got two new leather straps and a speedy 57 bracelet on the way.

For now here is the ceramic bezel.

Pain in the ass to try to align. Took it off another 10 times after these photos.

Huge fan of these white/cream (Albino 😍) mods. Seeing the pics here by OF members has ignited something and I think I need a project already - only a couple of weeks after getting my first ever Speedy and joining the forum

Also a plume shot

Nice mod with that bezel! Unfortunately, the ceramic bezel is currently out of stock and I am waiting for the next notification. The rest of the mod parts are ready - apollo 11 35th anniversary dial with handset and a 3861 bracelet. Lastly, I have narrowed 2 candidates for watch - 1861 Speedmaster (sapphire) and Apollo 11 30th anniversary. Haha..
