It happened! We had a nice dinner get together tonight in the seaside village of Antioch. In attendance were @jspdl @kgb @valkyrie_rider and @omegawatchlover and a couple hilarious photobombers. Post-COVID, I'm still getting used to meeting new humans, but as you'd expect from people who hang out on this forum, everyone was smart, friendly, interesting, and absurdly knowledgeable about watches.

The show and tell was freaking amazing. Unfortunately I only took pictures when the sun was pretty much down and they turned out a bit blobby. Chime in, friends, if you captured a better one. There were six flavors of Speedmaster, some rare Constellations, a terrifically cool Sky-Chief, and a freaking Hamilton marine chronometer for dessert.

We hope to do this a couple times a year, so keep an eye on this thread if you're interested in joining a future meetup!

I had a blast meeting everyone. Left with more knowledge and appreciation for other Omega: 70’s speedies, military, modern.. faux patina!, titanium. It was nice to see other brands that dabbled in others’ collections too. Oh yeah the Hamilton was pretty heavy!

I left Oakland quite some time ago but do still get to the North and East Bay once or twice a year. Who knows?!

That was a great evening! Loved meeting everyone and learning about many watches I'd never seen before. Can't wait until the next one.

Thanks @joeshoup for organizing!!

That looks awesome! I'm so excited to see the different regions do their own G2G's.

There are some fun watches in the mix, but that Speedy 125 is really cool - I hadn't seen one of those before.

Guess I dropped the ball on this. Did not see any reminders. Must be that East coast bias. They send out reminders...

Perhaps next time.

Personally I found it very well communicated with reminders sent if you expressed interest in attending. Kudos to Dan for organizing the event!

Sadly my schedule did not allow for a trek across the Bay Area on Sunday, bit of a haul from Santa Cruz, but that’s on me. Next time for sure!

Sorry I couldn't make the 5 hour drive last weekend. Looks like a fun time was had by all, and there were some lovely watches. A few of those models I have not seen in person that I would have loved to. That hobnail Connie without a strap looks quite nice, perhaps the owner can post a better picture. . . please? Love the c-case Connie, and . . .

Really glad to see this happening! The Mid-Atlantic group just held its third annual G2G earlier this month and it was bigger and better than ever. I hope to see these events continue to spring up in the U.S. and worldwide. It’s a great way to involve yourself in the hobby and meet new friends.

DM sent.

I am in Martinez. Northeast bay.

I see that the last GTG was in Antioch. I always find it amusing that the Antioch bridge is the same distance (25 miles) as is the Bay Bridge. Yet the latter seems farther away. Even weirder is that Yontville (wine district) Rio Vista (delta) and the Cow Palace (penensula) are also all the same distance (38 miles)

Silicon Valley thought is 58.4 miles. (and I did that everyday for a year.)

So everything is close.
