Interest in a Northern California GTG this Fall?

Any interest in an OF meeting here in northern California (loosely defined)? I'm in Oakland and consider it to be the center of the universe, but don't mind traveling to make it happen. I'm open as to format - weekday evening or weekend day are equally good for me. Possibly in October to give us time to plan. Chime in if you're interested and out-of-town visitors are of course welcome!

I'm in the East Bay and I would be interested in a meeting.

That being said, I hope the venue chosen is somewhere safer than Oakland (maybe Berkeley would work)?

I left Oakland in 2020 and moved back to New York so I'm afraid I'm not likely!

I will say based on experience though, buy a safe you can bolt into your foundation if you plan on staying in Oakland and enjoy watches or anything else nice.

Have you been broken into in Oakland? If so (sorry to hear!), in what type of place and in what part of Oakland?

PS I'd be interested in an east bay (or perhaps a bit further) meet!

I鈥檓 in Sacramento, a GTG sounds very interesting to me. An Omega GTG sounds even BETTER!

I have an interest, but I am in the far north (5 hours away from the Bay Area or Sacramento). It is hard to say if I would be able to get away from work and parenting responsibilities. Go ahead and plan it, but keep me in the loop. If I can make it work, I would like to go.

Yep got broken into in my apartment in downtown Oakland. 5th floor of a fairly secure complex.

Would be up for a GTG if it happens when I'm back home visiting family, SF or Peninsula ideal, but open to location.

So you obviously need to drive south to Baltimore for the December 2nd Mid-Atlantic G2G and hang out with us! 馃榾

Thanks everyone for the input! I agree that Oakland is not the safest meeting spot - if we meet in the East Bay Lafayette, Berkeley, etc might be good choices. But as I said I can be open to suggestions.

I'm moving this to PM with those who showed an interest. Any latecomers to the thread feel free to PM me!

I'm surprised that you didn't consider a GTG at Topper in Burlingame.

Nice suggestion. I've actually never been there, though I've had like 6 work projects in Burlingame in recent years.

Kinda late to this post but I'm almost NorCal based as I'm in Fresno (Central Valley really) but my office is in Santa Clara so I'd be potentially interested in a GTG too if the dates worked out.

I like the idea of meeting near/at Toppers as I've been trying to check out that store all year but everytime I have a chance it's a bloody Monday (when they're closed!). Lol.
