Nothing about the dial is original. You can certainly have the dial refinished again, but the results are often not particularly good. Alternatively, you can just have the lume replaced if the radium concerns you.

Looks like it’s a 1958 model after all. I suspect the hand inscriptions on the back are maintenance dates. If so it has been maintained many times over the years. The pictures didn’t capture all of them, but a few are visible.
