I bet with a service and a new hesalite crystal it will look amazing. All personal preference but since it is sentimental I would consider leaving the current bezel as it is, each one of those knicks has a story. My Speedy (ever so slightly younger) says hello.

And dont get it polished!

Try to find a local watchmaker that works on Omega. It’ll be much cheaper and you’ll get a better result than returning it to Omega.

People here will gladly share recommendations as well.

I'm going to take a different tack and suggest you replace the bezel with a suitably aged used one, the existing one seems just a little too far gone. As long as you don't chuck the original one away, it can always be included or re-fitted in future should you need to, you won't have lost anything.

But that bezel oozes patina, it tells a story all by itself.

And unless you’re driving at 150, 190 or 450 you’re good to go, everything else is clearly legible 😉

I personally agree with this- I beat my Speedmaster to hell over the course of my first 15 years with it and couldn't stand looking at it anymore (I'm the guy that brushes and polishes my work boots- don't mind getting filthy, but gotta clean up).
I sourced a new factory crystal and service bezel from some kind members here and it made al the difference for me. Originals are safely tucked in a box.
