I'd suggest some research. Speedmaster101.com is a good place to start.

All vintage Speedmasters have become pretty desirable, but I don't think I can say that this one is particularly special. I'm guessing it's from the mid-1970s, which is not quite as desirable as earlier versions, and it's quite worn, with an incorrect sweep hand and missing crown. Still, in running condition, it's worth at least a few thousand USD, so most people would consider that it's worth fixing. Hopefully it has sentimental value to you as well. If it were my inheritance, I would definitely have it repaired.

Your pictures are not great. You haven't provided any information about the model.

If you are able to open the caseback there will be a model number and a serial number on the movement. If not a watchmaker should be able to help. You should get it serviced regardless.

It would appear to be a 145.022 most likely between 1969-1974.

-74 at the earliest IMO. Moonwatch case-back and no-step dial.

Ah I thought the dial looked stepped.

Well, better photos are needed, but I can't see a step in the photos the OP has posted. Here it is full-size.

I was just going off the 6 o'clock chrono dial as it appears stepped to me with the play of light.. but yeah better photos would help. I had assumed it to be a C3 dial.

This is what I think of as the "common years" for the Speedmaster. They aren't "special" in the lineage of the Speedmaster, but it is a vintage Speedmaster none the less.
Find an independent Omega service provider and they will sort it out. If you take it to Omega directly, they will replace the bezel, the dial, the hands, and refinish the case. If you want all of the above, then taking it to Omega wouldn't bas a bad thing, but changing out all of those parts will decrease the collectible value the watch has. An independent with an Omega parts account will repair and replace the missing/wrong parts, but won't touch the vintage parts that make it vintage if you tell them what you want. It won't be cheap (most likely upward of $1k), but it will be reliable and a pleasure to wear.
If you don't want to sink that kind of money into the watch, just throw it up on eBay as-is, don't even clean it. You will still get a couple $K out of it.

What's with you and your missing ability to see steps in dials? 😁

I thought I had lost it and was hallucination prone. STEPS.. EVERYWHERE... STEPS.

Is there really a step around the perimeter of the dial? Seriously? I still can't see it.

Edit: OK, I get it now. The connection with the pie-pan dial. I guess I am a "step-skeptic". 😉
