Don’t sell it to the first person who sends you a private message. The learning curve on what you have can be steep. I hope you stick around the forum

Welcome. It’s a nice looking Speedmaster. Do you have questions about it? Do you intend to wear it, if so you should find a local watchmaker to have a service done and fit the bracelet for you. If you intend to sell it, do nothing to it, don’t even attempt to clean it- and let the next owner make the decisions on how they want to treat it.

On one of the lugs you are able to find the serial of the watch. Run that via ilovemyspeedmaster.com and it will give you an estimated date.

Definitly a nice 90's Speedy with tritium dial/hands (nice nice !). I guess a 3590.50 (caliber 861).
As mentionned above, you can find the serial number here, this will help (I read 48333843 - if correct this is from october 1995 acording to ILoveMySpeedmaster).

thankyou guys this helped me
does anyone know what it roughly is worth ?

I would say that, as an inheritance, it's priceless.
However, after a good cleaning and service, I guess this could be sold for around 3000-4000€.

That’s optimistic for a one off sale. I can buy these in the used case at my AD for that much- with box and 1 year warranty

I revise my former statement- you are right that with a service by an authorized Omega watchmaker with paperwork- then yes, it could fetch that much. I just don’t want to get the seller’s hopes up too much if he is looking for a quick flip.

Glad to hear you intend to keep it. But don’t be scared about walking around with a valuable watch- most of us do it daily (and many bought them when they weren’t that valuable). If this were a solid gold Rolex- sure, that draws a lot of attention and I wouldn’t want to be flaunting one around. But these watches are fairly discreet and are meant to be used for daily wear.
Let us know where you are in the world and someone can recommend an independent watchmaker that can Service it properly for you.
